Saban Films Takes North America On Western ‘The Unholy Trinity’ Starring Pierce Brosnan & Samuel L. Jackson, Will Release With Roadside Attractions

EXCLUSIVE: Saban Films has acquired North American rights to The Unholy Trinity, a Western actioner starring Pierce Brosnan (Golden Eye) and Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight) alongside Brandon Lessard (Classified). In partnership with Roadside Attractions, the film will be released in theaters nationwide on June 13.

A tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures, The Unholy Trinity is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task: Murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).

Written by Lee Zachariah and directed by Richard Gray (Murder at Yellowstone City), the film also stars David Arquette (Scream franchise), Veronica Ferres (Crisis), Tim Daly (Madam Secretary), Ethan Peck (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), and Q’orianka Kilcher (Princess Kaiulani).

“This film embodies everything we love about Westerns— an exploration of lawlessness vs. justice, civilization vs. the frontier, and a trio of gunslingers navigating a morally complex world,” said Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker, Co-Presidents of Saban Films. “The Unholy Trinity is anchored by two absolute legends in Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan, whose chemistry and gravitas, combined with Richie’s bold vision, makes for an unforgettable ride. We’re excited for audiences to experience the vast, sweeping landscapes and pulse-pounding showdowns of this electrifying film on the big screen.”

Commented Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff, Co-Presidents of Roadside Attractions, “Brosnan and Jackson are screen legends and seeing them together in a film for the first time brought us great joy. With newcomer Brandon Lessard as the third leg of the trio, their work here will be a treat for anyone who loves Westerns and stories about the American frontier.”

Bill Bromiley negotiated the acquisition on behalf of Saban Films, with UTA on behalf of the filmmakers.
